Plan 1: Conference and St. Petersburg

March 14th (Sat) – Arrival in St. Petersburg.
You will be met by a guide who will accompany you to the hotel for check-in at Hotel Oktiabrskaya
Dinner on your own.  (Russian fast food available nearby)

March 15th (Sun) – Sightseeing and Hermitage Museum

9:00 Depart for Sightseeing
12:30 Lunch in City Restaurants
14:30 Visit the Hermitage Museum
17:30 Dinner in Tschaikovsky Restaurant
19:00 Registration in our host school, historic Gymnasium #2
19:20 Directors Meeting
19:20 Informal meeting of delegates in Committees
20:15 Performance of the Nevsky Ensemble in the school auditorium
21:00 Return to Hotel Oktyabrskaya

March 16th (Mon) – Day 1 Conference
Breakfast Buffet in hotel
9:00 Depart hotel in buses
10:00-12:00 Opening ceremony in the Mariinsky Palace with special guest speakers
13:00 Lunch by committees in host school cafeteria
14:00-18:00 Lobbying/Committees in session
14:30-18:00 Approval Panel at work
18:15 Depart by bus to Nikolayevsky Palace
19:00 Palace Dinner
21:00 Return to Hotel

March 17th (Tues) – Day 2 Conference
Buffet Breakfast in hotel
8:30 Depart hotel in delegations with guides, travel by Metro to school
9:30-12:30 Committees in session
12:30 Lunch by committees in school cafeteria
13:30-16:00 Committees in session
16:30 Transfer to hotel for freshening up
18:00 Buffet Dinner in Hotel Oktiabrskaya
19:00 Depart hotel for ballet performance
20:00 Ballet performance for our MUN participants, a compilation of classical and contemporary dance
22:00 Return to hotel

March 18th (Wed) – Day 3 Conference
Buffet breakfast in hotel
8:30 Board buses to travel to school
9:30-12:30 G.A. and Security Council in session
12:30 Lunch in school cafeteria
14:00-15:00 Closing Ceremony
15:00 Free time in city center with Gym. 2 student hosts
18:00 Buffet Dinner in hotel
19:00 Depart for Disco
19:00-22:00 Disco
22:00 Return to hotel

March 19th (Thurs) – Departure
Buffet Breakfast in hotel
Depart for the airport according to your flight schedule

Plan 2: Conference and St. Petersburg + Veliky Novgorod extension

March 14th – 18th, same as Plan 1

March 19th (Thurs) – St. Petersburg-Pushkin-Novgorod
Load luggage and depart for Pushkin where we have lunch and visit the grandiose Catherine Palace, the most opulent of the czar’s summer palaces. From here it’s only a two-hour drive to Novgorod, the oldest of Russian cities, founded in 862. Check into our Hotel for dinner, followed by an evening stroll.

March 20th (Fri) – Novgorod
Discover Novgorod, for centuries a center of artists, traders and spiritual leaders. Visit the Kremlin, the 11th-century St. Sophia Cathedral and other wonders of art and architecture. Enjoy the wooden architecture of a beautifully preserved Russian village. You will also have the opportunity to shop for local handcrafts. Tonight all delegates will meet for an evening in the Novgorod School for Folk Art to include dancing, singing and handicrafts. Dinner afterwards!

March 21st (Sat) – Novgorod-Pulkhovo Airport, Departure
Breakfast buffet and departure from Novgorod. Transfer to St. Petersburg Pulkhovo Airport.

Plan 3: Conference and St. Petersburg + St. Petersburg extension

March 14th – 18th, same as Plan 1

March 19th (Thurs) – Excursion to Pushkin – St. Petersburg
Buffet breakfast in hotel
8:45 Depart for the town of Pushkin, otherwise known as Czar’s Village, where we visit the grandiose Catherine Palace, the most opulent of the Czar’s summer palaces.
12:30 Have lunch in Pushkin.
14:00 Plan 2 schools depart for Novgorod and the program there. Further details according to plan 2, to be discussed on site.
14:00 Plan 3 schools return to St. Petersburg.
15:00 Excursion to Peter and Paul Fortress, afterwards bus transfer to Hotel, followed by free time.
18:00 Buffet Dinner in the Hotel. Evening free for individual activites. We are glad to assist you with arrangements for events, such as the circus, classical concerts, ballet, hockey games etc.

March 20th (Fri) – St. Petersburg (plan 3 schools)
Buffet breakfast in hotel.
9:30 Departure for Yusupov Palace and tour this splendid family mansion which affords a fascinating view of pre-revolutionary Russia. It was here in the basement that Rasputin was murdered in December of 1916.
12:30 Lunch in the nearby historic Polovtsov Restaurant
The afternoon will be at your leisure with assistance of a guide, to possibly include time at a small flea market by the Church of Spilled Blood OR the guide will be ready to assist you in planning whatever your group would like. Return to hotel.  Dinner on your own.
Evening is free for Dinner on your own.  If you would like to organize a dinner for your school group, we are glad to assist you.

March 21st (Sat) – St. Petersburg – Departure Flight  (plan 3 schools)
Buffet breakfast in your hotel.
By 11:00 Take your luggage to the storage room, turn in your room key.
Free time to be coordinated with your school groups and the guides  who will meet you and accompany you to the airport, depending on your departure times.
